Real Bride Phoebe

There’s something we love about hearing the little details from our brides about how they found their dress, especially when the dress they end up choosing wasn’t necessarily the one they expected to fall for.

For Phoebe, her appointment at Peggy came at the end of a very long day of dress shopping. It was the hottest day of the year, and after visiting other bridal shops, she told us that her appointment with us was actually the most relaxed of the day. That’s exactly what we want for our brides, no pressure, no rushing, just time to try things on, have a laugh and see what feels right.

One of the things Phoebe mentioned really stood out to us. She had initially avoided some dresses because they were smaller than her usual high street size, but her stylist encouraged her to keep an open mind and try them anyway. And we’re very glad she did! It’s so easy to get caught up in the number on a label when you’re wedding dress shopping, but bridal sizing can be completely different from what you’re used to. The important thing is how the dress makes you feel when you put it on.

Phoebe also told us how much she appreciated the way her stylist included her nana throughout the appointment. Her nana can’t hear very well, but that didn’t stop her from being part of the experience. It’s such a lovely thing to hear because your bridal appointment isn’t just about you finding a dress, it’s about the people you bring with you, the memories you make and everyone feeling part of that moment.

And then, of course, there was the dress.

Phoebe went for something with serious drama, complete with detachable sleeves that gave her a few different looks throughout the day without having to disappear for an outfit change. She told us she received a million compliments on it, and looking at these photographs, we can absolutely see why. It suited her perfectly and looked incredible from every angle.

She got married at the chapel at Grand Villa Heights before heading to Solara Shores for her reception, and described it simply as “the best day ever.” Honestly, we think the photographs say the rest.

Phoebe, thank you for sharing your story with us and for letting us be a tiny part of your wedding day. We’re so glad you found us at the end of that very hot day of dress shopping, and even more glad that you left with the one.

And a special thank you to Kav Photography for capturing these beautiful photographs, we could look at them all day.

If you’re wedding dress shopping at the moment, take a little bit of advice from Phoebe: don’t rule something out just because it isn’t what you expected. Try it on. Keep an open mind. You might just surprise yourself.
