Muriel's Magical Journey to 'Yes'

We absolutely love hearing about our brides’ journeys, and today we’re thrilled to introduce the lovely Muriel—one of our radiant Peggy brides. Every bride has a unique story, and it’s such a joy for us to be a part of that unforgettable chapter.
Here, Muriel shares her Peggy Bridal experience, from the moment she stepped into our boutique to the day she said “yes” to the dress
- Tell us about your experience here at Peggy Bridal?
My experience was unique in a positive way. I was not in the UK when my dress was purchased. I asked my mother to take my measurements and try on several for me to see how they fit on a real person. Off a video call, the communication was great. The staff at Peggy Bridal were incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. Despite being miles away, I felt confident in their ability to assist me and my mom in finding the perfect dress.
2. Did you have a gown in mind that you were after before your appointment at Peggy?
I sure did. I had been eyeing a specific style of dress that I had seen online and was hoping to have my mom try on something similar during my appointment. I was thrilled when Peggy Bridal had a variety of gowns that matched my vision perfectly.
3. Did you go for the dress you thought you would go for?
Of course not. I was going for a strappy mermaid style. But the aha moment happened when my mom tried on a completely different style that ended up being the one. It just goes to show that sometimes what you think you want isn't always what looks best on you.
4. What dress did you go for and why?
I fell in love with the Allure Collection, C712, Sand color gown. This was all because of the subtle bling, the fit and the color. The soft sand color complemented my skin tone perfectly, and the intricate beading added just the right amount of sparkle without being overwhelming. It was a perfect combination of elegance and glamour that I couldn't resist.
5. How did it make you feel when you said 'Yes' to your dress?
Saying 'Yes' to my dress made me feel like a bride for the first time. It was a moment of pure joy and excitement, knowing that I had found the perfect gown for my special day.
6. Tell us about your Wedding day. Where you got married and the styling to your day.
Oh, where do I even begin? My natural hair has always been my biggest accessory. So, on my wedding day, I decided to wear it in loose curls cascading down my back, with a delicate flower crown adding a touch of whimsy. This blended so well with my long veil that I also got from Peggy bridal. As for my makeup, I went for a soft glam, enhancing my natural features with a bit of shimmer on the eyes and natural lips. Our wedding took place at a beautiful garden, Padonhodzo Venue, in Zimbabwe, with well-manicured lawns. My decor was mostly rustic-contemporary, which included a blend of rustic colors and fairy lights creating a romantic atmosphere that perfectly complemented my dress.
7. Any advice for future brides?
My advice for future brides would be to stay true to your personal style and preferences when planning your wedding. Don't feel pressured to follow trends or traditions if they don't resonate with you. Don't be afraid to add unique features that will make your day memorable. Remember, it's your special day, so make sure it reflects who you are as a couple. I'd also add that, on the day, do not worry about how the day will go; just be intentional about enjoying your day.
